Publication and Sequenced Installation Details
PL:BECS has prepared publications on various building enclosure subjects to assist its clients. Subjects have included sub-slab waterproofing, sealant joint design, behavior of post-tensioned structures, as well as the Zen of Brick, a technical guide for the design and installation of brick veneers. Such publications are available for purchase.
In addition, PL:BECS also provides sequenced installation drawings for various common exterior envelope elements, such as windows, vents, various roof parapet junctures, among others. Such details clearly define step-by-step procedures. These can be used to guide the general contractor in properly coordinating the work of its sub-contractors to assure weather-tight installations. Such details are available for many typical junctures where leakage frequently originates, such as windows in various types of wall claddings, roof/wall junctures, and flashing details, both within common as well as highly unique construction assemblies. Less-costly hand-sketched details are also available for purchase. Though such details lack the crisp straight lines of drafted details, these hand-sketched sequences provide the same high level of information. An extensive library of pre-made details allows PL:BECS to match well to a wide range of actual conditions. PL:BECS also prepares such details on a custom basis. |
