Lake Washington Residence
Seattle, Washington
Client: Stephen Sullivan Architects Dates of Service: 1993 Project Summary: This large new residence faced challenges inherent in Seattle’s rainy climate as well as from its site’s lakefront location with a high subterranean water table. Innumerable complex junctures between the home’s five different waterproof deck types, two roof systems, and four exterior wall assemblies, posed additional intricacies.
PL:BECS Services: PL:BECS consulted to the architect throughout the design in all aspects related to the home’s exterior enclosure systems, including sub-grade roof and wall waterproofing; deck waterproofing; low-slope membrane roofs and clay-tile sloping roofs; limestone and rubble-stone wall veneers; stucco-clad walls; concrete-block and shot-crete site walls, and associated elements. During the construction process, PL:BECS worked closely with the architect and Edifice Construction, the general contractor, to assure proper execution of the various exterior envelope systems. |
