Exterior Enclosure Accessory Materials and Products
PL:BECS also has long-term familiarity with the many different accessory materials and products needed to complete building enclosure systems. This includes all types of insulations, such as blown-in and batt compressible types, foamed-in-place, semi-rigid types, as well as typical rigid-board products, such as polystyrene, polyisocyanurate, etc.
PL:BECS experience also encompasses the many types of water vapor-permeable exterior building wraps as well as vapor barriers intended to stop vapor flow into or through enclosure systems. With a strong background in physics, PL:BECS can perform condensation-risk calculations and evaluations for different building types in various climates. PL:BECS can provide guidance in the selection of appropriate drainage and ventilation mats for below-grade walls, soil-capped deck systems, masonry veneers and other rain-screen cladding systems, under metal roofs, and for similar conditions. PL:BECS can provide technical guidance pertaining to varied exterior coating systems, including elastomeric paints, corrosion-inhibiting coatings, penetrating finishes for wood-protection, and related materials. Penetrating water-repellents for concrete and masonry substrates, such as silane and siloxane sealers, also fall within PL:BECS areas of expertise. |
