Eastside Residence
Bellevue, Washington
Client: David James Architects Dates of Service: 1998 Project Summary: This new home’s hilltop site exposed it to severe wind-driven rains, requiring careful attention to its exterior envelope elements.
Exterior assemblies included wood-framed walls clad with stucco and stone veneer; sloped tile roofs; waterproof decks, residential windows, and associated flashings and sealant joints. PL:BECS Services: PL:BECS provided services in two phases. In the design phase, PL:BECS held a series of meetings with the architect and Edifice Construction, the general contractor, to help guide the evolving design of all exterior elements. PL:BECS assisted with the detailed design and material selections for all exterior components, including roofing, deck waterproofing, stucco and stone claddings, windows, and related materials. During subsequent construction, PL:BECS visited the site as requested by the general contractor to provide guidance in the installation of various waterproofing membranes and other envelope systems. |
