Buffun Poolhouse
Shelburne, Vermont
Client: David Coleman Architects Dates of Service: 1993 Project Summary: With an interior hot tub, swimming pool, and sauna, this new pool-house posed inherent humidity-condensation risks, especially during Vermont’s severe winters. Inclusion of various sub-grade interior spaces below the pool level provided additional waterproofing challenges. The moment-resistant steel-frame structure was clad with brick veneer.
PL:BECS Services: PL:BECS consulted to the architect in the design and selection of all enclosure systems, including sub-grade drainage and waterproofing; shower waterproofing; roof insulation and venting; low-slope single-ply membrane roofs and standing seam metal roofs; brick veneer wall cladding; condensation-control methods, and related elements. |
