Anacortes Residence
Anacortes, Washington
Client: Mithun Partners Architects Dates of Service: 1995 Project Summary: This new home presented numerous building envelope challenges, by virtue of its concrete block and stucco exterior wall claddings, various exterior decks, complex roof junctures, sub-grade roofs and tunnel, unforgiving geometries, and hillside location, which required a 250-foot long and 26-foot high retaining wall against its uphill side. An indoor swimming pool added inherent humidity and leakage risks.
PL:BECS Services: PL:BECS consulted to the architect in all aspects related to the building’s exterior envelope elements, including waterproofing of sub-grade walls roofs, and tunnel; membrane and standing-seam metal roofs; concrete-block, stucco, and concrete wall assemblies; windows; pre-cast concrete copings, and related elements. |
